I’ve always been the kind of person who needs to move. Doesn’t matter if it’s a pickup basketball game, a trail run, or just chasing my niece around the garden. Motion is therapy for me.
But last year, all that started to shift. My knees weren’t bouncing back like they used to. I’d go for a run and feel this sharp, nagging pain just below the kneecap. A few weeks later, it wasn’t just post-run soreness. It was pain that lingered when I walked down stairs, squatted, even when I got up from the sofa. I did what we all do: Googled it. Patellar tendinopathy. “Jumper’s knee.” Classic.
I scaled things back. Tried rest. Foam rolled until I was blue in the face. Bought one of those weird-looking knee straps from Amazon. Nothing stuck.
The Friend Who Changed Everything
One afternoon, a friend I used to play basketball with saw me limping after a casual shootaround. He pulled a small device out of his backpack and handed it to me like it was some kind of sacred object. No chance that device would help.
“Try this,” he said.
I gave him the look. You know the one...
The device was called Tend. He showed me how to use it, targeting the quads and just above the kneecap. We weren’t even courtside for more than five minutes, but I felt it. A lightness, like someone turned the volume down on the pain. That was enough for me to order one that night.
The Difference Wasn't Just Physical
Over the next few weeks, I worked Tend into my daily routine. Five minutes before activity. Ten minutes after. Some days, just while watching TV. That deep, focused vibration did more than just distract from the pain. It changed how my knees moved. It let them move.
But the real shift was mental.
I wasn’t scared to jump anymore. I wasn’t babying every step. Tend didn’t just help the pain. It gave me back confidence in my own body. That’s the part no one talks about enough.
I Started Sharing It Because How Could I Not?
Soon enough, my sister borrowed it for her hip pain. Then a co-worker used it on a sore Achilles. Now it’s the kind of thing I keep in my car, just in case someone needs it.
No gimmicks. No fluff. Just something that works. Quickly, gently, and without the side effects.
Final Thoughts
There’s a lot of noise in the recovery world. I’ve tried a fair share of it.
But Tend? It cuts through the noise. It’s simple. Smart. And for people like me, people who just want to move without thinking twice about pain, it’s been a game changer.
If your knees or anything else are holding you back, give it a shot. You won’t regret it.
